Center students came out to represent at the Joint Leadership Conference. Student leaders from all over campus brain stormed about how they can work together to create a holistic experience for our incoming and continuing students. Dr. Shannon Ellis, Vise President of Student Services, gave a motivational speech about caring for one another and all our incoming students. She encouraged students to make eye contact and go the extra mile when helping new students. Her main message was that retention starts with us!
Department leaders updated students about new upcoming events and additional services. Ellen Houston announced the new additions to the Center staff which included four new Graduate Assistants, a New Social Work Intern, a full time Outreach and Retention Coordinator and a full time Gear Up Ambassador.
Our student leaders were treated to a meal and a raffle. Two lucky participates walked away with a Lombardi pass!
